Outside the classroom

Outside the classroom

Few schools rival Old Swinford Hospital in the breadth of their extra-curricular activities and our Sixth Form students benefit to the full. Encouraged to balance their academic studies with activities that develop the skills they can’t acquire in the classroom, they are standard bearers of student life.

Everyone is given the opportunity to excel, in areas as diverse as sport, business enterprise and the performing arts. Opportunities for experiences away from school are common and include overseas travel, such as the recent, life-changing expeditions to Borneo and Ecuador.

Time is set aside for university applications, with assistance provided by experienced tutors. Enrichment lectures, our own Higher Education Fair and excursions to university open days provide further guidance.

The Sixth Form has a proud history. Its students achieve more than an outstanding set of results. They emerge from the school as well-rounded, confident young people, ready to make an impact on the world around them. This is the hallmark of an Old Swinford Hospital student and, whatever their next step, it’s a reputation that will precede them.
