Sport
Sport and Physical Education play a central role in life at Old Swinford Hospital. While we’re especially proud of the performance of our teams on the national and even international stage, students are encouraged to develop their talents at all levels.
Rugby is followed passionately and the school is famous for its exploits in regional and national competitions, including the Daily Mail Cup, regularly reaching the latter stages. The school has strong links with Worcester Rugby Club and a number of former students have progressed to the professional game.
Yet the school supports a wide range of sports, from cricket to clay pigeon shooting, and has found success at almost every level. The school climbing wall is a popular challenge and the all-weather pitch, part of the latest phase of the school’s expansion, is a welcome addition to our facilities.
Perhaps one of the most rewarding sights at the school comes during the long summer evenings when students of all Houses and ages come together to organise impromptu 5-a-side matches, cricket practice sessions and games of tennis.
